{ Little Miss K }

Todays post is a very large one. I just had a hard time choosing so I put a bunch up.
Last week I had the priviledge of shooting this little girl. It was an absolute blast! This is a very special shoot though. You wouldn't know it by looking at her, but this little one has had a LOT of health issues. At the age of 2 she has had more health challenges than most of us will ever have in our life time. She has a rare chromosomal abnormality, which means she has difficulty with developement in motor, language and feeding skills. For K, communication means a combination of sign language and limited speech. Good health is a struggle for her with multiple trips to the Mayo Clinic and local physicians to treat associated conditions.
The crazy part is, since her disorder is so rare there is no name for it. There are only about 250 other people with the same disorder. This also means that there is no means of support - she cannot qualify for SSI without a syndrome name.

I tell you all of this so you know a little about her story and to make you aware of a benefit tht will be taking place May 16 from 4-7PM at The Loft (above Central Station)
